My Story

Syntoria L. Spencer has over 30 years of military and civilian government service in the logistics and acquisition profession.  Although she has dedicated many years to being a public trust servant, she has the compassion to work with children and young adults. She has worked as a youth counselor with Lutheran Services. She has volunteered as a Guardian Ad Litem for Escambia County, Pensacola, Florida, and as a youth director/leader for her church.

Although Syntoria is a compassionate woman of God and a woman of faith, she did not understand the path that God was leading her to walk.  She felt empty and knew that she was not walking in the fullness of life that God promised her. Due to her concern for others, Syntoria became bogged down in caring for others’ well-being, while neglecting her own. Walking in her own wilderness for several years, she lost her voice and her being.

After experiencing many hurts and failures, Syntoria realized that she could no longer wear the “veil of society." She began to understand her calling to become transparent and real…not to others, but to herself.  And because of this new freedom she knew, deep within her heart, she had to humble herself to serve in her purpose. Surrendering to God’s will, Syntoria became aware that she had to take a powerful stand. She recognized that she had to use her voice and share her story to encourage and empower others through love, compassion, and understanding. In discovering her true purpose, Sisters Anointed to Lead Together (SALT) was birthed.

Syntoria is a native of Pensacola, Florida.  She graduated Cum Laude from Troy State University with a Bachelor of Science in Management.  She earned her Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.  She is a veteran of the armed forces. She is the mother of two sons. In her spare time, she enjoys mentoring, reading, cooking, and entertaining family and friends.
